Kinds of Lessons / Content

There are six kinds of product training included in the following courses:

  1. General or Summary Videos. These are created as 'exclusive' content to this platform. They are delivered as voiced slides, like a traditional school lecture. For items likes whisks, peelers, mashers and other small tools, this is the most common type of training since many brands and many features can be addressed all at once.
  2. Vendor videos. Most brands have created high quality video content that covers the use, care and features of their models. These videos are almost always related to appliances where specific features are perhaps not intuitive to the customer (or staff!). The intent of these videos is to see the product in action, out of its box so that you can answer questions about features without having direct, hands-on experience. Many share tricks, like where some key cleaning tools are stored (hidden?), or other design features that are fun 'hacks' to share with customers.
  3. Shelf Talkers. Shelf talkers are product specific signage that detail features, capacities, and dimensions. They provide answers to common customer questions about the product and can be placed near a display model for customers (or staff!) to get answers to very specific product information. These are all pdfs that can be printed on your own color printer, no professional printing required. The pricing area on the shelf talker is left blank so that you can edit the pdf or hand write your pricing, and reprint as needed with pricing changes. Most clients come for the training and stay for the shelf talkers.
  4. Reviews. Customers will come in having read the latest New York Times (Wire Cutter), America's Test Kitchen or Bon Appetit Review. These reviews are linked so that you can be up to date on the latest buzz! Some of this content may be behind a paywall, such as America's Test Kitchen reviews. These links and QR codes are highlighted in this color, indicating that access is limited to subscribers only.
  5. Manuals. Product manuals are linked where appropriate so that you can read the fine print if you have questions. It is not expected that you read each of the product manuals, but one of the goals of this course is that you have easy, single location access for important content.
  6. Quizzes. Don't panic. The only intent of the quizzes is to reinforce the content of the lesson....because science says that quizzes help us retain the knowledge.

This course will continue to be refined as new models are released, products reviews are updated, and customer behavior or advice around particular topics changes. As a subscriber you will have ongoing access to these updates at the price originally paid for the subscription, as long as the subscription remains active.
